Flat Fee Arrangement for Uncontested Divorces

1. Prepare Petition or Response: I will draft and prepare all the necessary documents to either initiate a divorce case or respond to one.

2. File: All necessary documents will be officially filed with the appropriate court.

3. Serve: Your spouse will be properly served, fulfilling the legal requirement for the proceeding.

4. Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure: I will prepare your Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure and manage the process of serving and filing the proof of service.

5. Review and Analysis: I will review both parties' Preliminary Declarations of Disclosure and provide you with a detailed analysis on a fair settlement.

6. Negotiate Settlement: Utilizing my expertise in family law, I will negotiate a fair and equitable settlement on your behalf if possible.

7. Prepare Judgment: Once a settlement is reached, I will draft the final judgment documents.

8. Submit: The final judgment will be submitted to the court for approval.

9. Unlimited Reasonably Necessary Communication: You'll have the freedom to reach out to me whenever you have questions or concerns, without worrying about extra charges.

 

Costs Covered

​

• First Paper Fee: The initial filing fee is covered.

• All Other Filing Fees: Any subsequent filing fees that may arise during the uncontested divorce process are also covered.

• Basic Process Server: The fee for a basic process server to serve your spouse is included.

 

What's Not Included

​

• Any Litigation: This includes preparing or responding to a request for order, a motion, and an order to show cause, or any other litigious actions.

• Any Formal Discovery: This includes propounding or responding to written discovery, depositions, coordinating with forensic accountants, issuing subpoenas, etc.

• Court Appearances: The flat fee does not cover any court appearances on your behalf.

 

What if an Non-Included Matter Unexpectedly Arises?

Life is unpredictable, and sometimes matters arise that were not anticipated at the outset. If an issue comes up that is not covered in the flat fee arrangement, you have two options:

1. Self-Representation: You may choose to represent yourself for the particular issue at hand. If you opt for this, I can provide guidance on how you can go about it, although no formal legal services will be provided for that specific matter under the flat fee arrangement.

2. Retain Counsel: You have the option to hire an attorney, including myself, to handle the new matter. I offer flat rate quotes for non-included matters. This rate would be separate from the flat fee arrangement and would be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.
